I have flown the FD3 several times and it is very responsive to the controller. I have made some videos and they are very clear and stable. Flies very well and the batteries really last. It is a very good product. I haven't flown it at the beach yet but will soon.
Took it to the beach this past weekend, it’s very easy to operate. The drone flew out the heaviest bait into the wind and the other baits with a semi crosswind perfectly. I’m not familiar with fishing drones but this drone exceeded my expectations.
Very good product , well made and easy to operate. Glad I got the advanced model with extra props and 2 batteries. Total 3 batteries came with drone, charger charges fast and you can adjust how many amps you are charging at, it does controller and batteries. The only draw back is the user manual. Some of the features are vaguely explained or not at all like the power button and the search button on the side of the display or how to replace the barometric membrane. Also it does not explain how to secure the swellpro logo plate over the barometric membrane, mine will.not lock down.There are a few other things but overall it's a great product for all kinds of applications, not just fishing. I will give an update after actually surf fishing with it and how well swell pro treats me if I have to make a warranty claim. So far swellpro support reps responded to my questions/emails within 24 to 36 hours. I Definitely think Swellpro should include a quick start laminated card to help first time users quickly get the FD3 opreratuonal without reading the entire manual. I'm very happy so far!
The drone is nice, instructions are clear and everything about the drone is simple and easy. The only thing is the camera film quality could be improved as it can be a bit blurry depending on the time of day. Another thing is the battery life. I used very light bait (2OZ sinker with a live mullet), cast it 100M or so off-shore but the battery seems to give off a warning after 4 trips.
Overall it’s a very cool drone and is fun to use, and helped me catch come cool types of fish. Camera is handy to see where you drop, but as far as film quality, it could be improved. As far as the battery, an extra battery would be ideal if you plan on going for a full day of drone fishing, otherwise use the drone sparingly and don’t fly it far and it should last you the whole day. Also, where I live the weather gets up to 110F or 46C, which may cause the battery to heat and drain faster.
The drone is amazing super easy set up. Flying it is a breeze .i do recommend the advanced version .battery has really good flight time the only thing i wish was better was camera options the 4k it comes with is really nice but limited controls. I put it through its paces I did a break in period just to make sure everything was kosher it’s done over 40 1 pound test drops for the most part I am very happy with it shout out to the lisharkman for everything he is the reason I went with swellpro I hope I have some good shark pics next week
I have been watching Swellpro Drones on YouTube and at the beach here in Texas for a while. I’ve been fishing with a competitor drone which was not waterproof but luckily got the job done without getting drowned in the Gulf. I finally bit the bullet and bought the Swellpro Fisherman FD3 Advanced. Ordering was easy and received it in about a week. It was packed very well and everything including 2 extra batteries and 2 extra sets of props fit nicely in the carrying case. So far this drone has performed excellent, zero problems. The only thing I see that could maybe be done better is more detailed instructions on camera use and the FDFly app. Still haven’t figured out how to get it to auto fly to waypoints and drop bait. Overall I would recommend this drone for anyone. At 72 years old, it sure makes it easy to get big baits out where they need to be without having to wade out to cast. A lot easier on old shoulders too! 😂
